The short version
- Premium can be gifted to any Telegram username. The recipient does not need to do anything.
- Plans cost $13.19 (3 months), $17.59 (6 months) and $31.89 (12 months) when paid with crypto.
- The whole flow takes about a minute: username, plan, coin, pay. Activation is automatic.
Why gift Premium
Premium is one of the few gifts on Telegram that everyone actually uses: 4 GB uploads, voice-to-text, no ads in big channels, doubled limits. It is a favorite for birthdays, for thanking the admin who keeps a community running, or as a giveaway prize that does not need shipping. Because activation is username-based, you do not need the person's phone number, address or even a conversation with them.
How to gift it, step by step
- Get the username. It is the @handle on their profile. Double-check the spelling, one wrong letter sends the gift to a stranger.
- Open the Premium page and enter that username at checkout.
- Pick a plan. 3, 6 or 12 months. The 12 month plan has the best monthly rate at $2.66.
- Pay with crypto. TON is fastest with zero service fees; USDT on TON, Ethereum, BSC or Polygon also works, as do 100+ other coins. New to TON? Start here.
- Done. Premium activates on their account automatically once the payment confirms, usually within 10 to 120 seconds.
Choosing a plan
| Plan | Price | Per month | Good for |
|---|---|---|---|
| 3 months | $13.19 | $4.40 | a trial-sized thank you |
| 6 months | $17.59 | $2.93 | most gifts, best balance |
| 12 months | $31.89 | $2.66 | the person you owe a lot |
These prices are the crypto rates. Telegram also sells gift subscriptions inside the app, but like all in-app purchases they route through app store billing and cost noticeably more. The comparison is in Telegram Premium with crypto, explained.
What the recipient sees
Telegram notifies them that Premium is active on their account, and the badge appears next to their name. The subscription runs for the period you bought and then simply expires. There is no auto-renew, no payment method attached to them, and nothing they have to accept or configure. If they already have Premium, the gifted time extends it.
FAQ
Yes in practice. The activation comes through the official gifting flow, and there is no account or name attached to the order on our side. If you want credit for the gift, tell them yourself.
The subscription activates on whatever valid username you enter, and blockchain payments cannot be reversed. Copy the @handle from their profile rather than typing it.
No. Only the buyer pays with crypto. The recipient just receives Premium on their normal Telegram account.
Yes. Username-based activation works globally, and crypto payments do not care about card regions, which is exactly why people use this route.
